Actresses Choose Dress Colors Too Close to Skin Tone

2010 82nd Oscar red carpet dresses seemed to alternate between red, black and skin tones. The over-ruling problem with dress choice on this year's 2010 82nd Oscar red carpet, is that many actresses chose dresses of a color too close to their skin tone. Some of the loveliest dresses paled when paired with the actresses skin tone. Many Sexy Trouwjurken of these dresses were a matter of, as Agent Maxwell Smart puts it, 'missed it by that much'. Some notable examples:

Demi Moore: The difference between her golden apricot dress and golden apricot skin made it impossible to distinguish fabric from flesh. In fact, the resemblance in color caused Moore's lovely dress to appear as dullorange and her lovely skin to look brassy.

Kate Winslet: Against Kate's fair skin and platinum blonde coiffure, her silver satin bodice with silvery flounce made her light skin look bluish Vintage Trouwjurk and metallic.

Anna Kendrick: Grecian pink chiffon against pink skin; a gorgeous dress, gorgeous failed because Kendrick didn't take some time out to get a tan.

Miley Cyrus:Pale yellow is not Miley's color. Nor has Miley developed the breasts and posture to wear such a low bodice. Miley seemed to spend the evening hunching over her plunging bodice, in an attempt to keep her breasts covered.

Sandra Bullock; Gorgeous dress, gorgeous figure, gorgeous woman. Had Sandra taken the dress one or two shades in the peach, pink or buttery yellow direction it would have shown up better against her creamy ivory skin.

Lastly, a few 'not bad dresses- could be better':

Carey Mulligan and Kristen Stewart: Too young and pretty to be draped in black crepe or satin and sequins. Save it for the older women who need to wear black.

Mariah Carey: I actually liked this dress and no fear of confusing color with skin. I did Korte Cocktailjurken think it a bit too vampy and unprofessional for the Oscar red carpet.

My vote for best dress choice based on skin tone, body shape and dress style is Queen Latifah. Her silver and dusty rose dress fit her curves very nicely without being too tight or making her look as if she was frothing out of it. Elegant hair, tasteful jewelry. Queen Latifah's ensemble rocked the Oscars for me.
